Kendrick Perkins bestowed Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving with an honest admission. He explained how the two NBA superstars stand powerless in the postseason.
The Brooklyn Nets have started the 2022-23 season with a record of 21-12. Their two standout players are averaging 29.9 (Kevin Durant) and 25.8 (Kyrie Irving) points per game. However, the past two season cannot be forgotten by NBA fans, Kendrick Perkins highlights the issues with utmost sincerity.
Kevin Durant recently addressed the media telling them that the Analyst take the two superstars for granted. He added that “me and Kai” especially, must pass through “Hula-Hoops of fire” to let others think that the Nets are onto something. Perkins singled out KD’s remark with his admission.
“How? How? Over the last two years, we’ve all been expecting KD and Kyrie to take Brooklyn to the promised land. It’s not our fault that we can’t trust them! They’re the one that made this bed, they’re the one that’s got to lay in it.” said Perkins in Friday’s episode of Get Up.
“I get it they are playing some exceptional basketball right now, but again, none of this matters until they get to the post season. By the way, they got swept last season. They got swept by the Boston Celtics.” Kedrick Perkins added.
“So, is Kevin Durant playing at an extremely high level? He is. But you can’t sit here and trust them.” He specified that the expectations have grown over the last two years with respect to Brooklyn and KD, Kyrie. Perkins said that they are not being overlooked by anyone they have just disappointed their fans.
Although, it would be scarcely credible to imagine Brooklyn Nets winning the NBA Championship after their last two postseason series against Milwaukee Buck and Boston Celtics. Nonetheless, would the Nets be able to grab the Conference Championship this year with their stars?
