Kendrick Perkins has major issue with this leading star being snubbed as All-star starter

Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins has voiced a major issue with Joel Embiid being snubbed as a starter for the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

The NBA All-Star game has been tradition of the NBA for as far back as we can remember. The best players in the competition all coke together to go up against each other, forming a number of mouthwatering team ups as well as contests that excites the NBA enthusiast more than anything.

The NBA All-Star game is an incredible occasion simply because it features the biggest stars in the competition all coming together in the same arena at the same time. Naturally, an All-Star appearance is the testimony of a player’s stature and legacy in the competition, and there is no doubt that it is quite a reliable parameter to judge a player’s impact in the league considering fan votes.

However, the inclusion and exclusion of players as starters based on fan votes might often cause a division of opinion – as it has seemingly done. Former NBA professional turned analyst Kendrick Perkins has voiced his opinion saying that one of the exclusions from the starting spots has not impressed him after Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was left out of the starters.

What did Kendrick Perkins have to say about Joel Embiid’s exclusion?

The former NBA champion took to the latest episode of NBA on ESPN to talk about his reservations about Joel Embiid not being able to make the starting spots.

Embiid has led the league in scoring since the start of last season

Speaking on the latest episode of NBA on ESPN alongside Stephen A. Smith, Perkins spoke about his opinion on why he feels Joel Embiid’s exclusion from the 2023 NBA All-Star game as a starter is a problem to him. Perkins said: “Joel Embiid who’s leading the league in scoring, has his team 2nd in the Eastern Conference and not being an All-Star Starter is a problem to me.”
