Kendrick Perkins picks LeBron James in his ESPN”s NBA top 5 list saying “This is my top 5. This list is right.”
NBA Ranks for the upcoming season have been released by ESPN and there have been some major changes in the list, LeBron being one of the most highlighted ones for losing three sports compared to last season’s ranking.
For the first time since 2011, James has been rated outside the wall of Top-5 from the list. LeBron will enter his 20th season in the NBA, in the previous season for the Laker, he averaged 30 points per game despite which the team failed to enter the playoffs. No one can doubt the impact that the 6feet 9inchi holds on the court, in honor of which he was also a part of the NBA 75th anniversary team.
Former American professional player and the current sports analyst on ESPN recently stood up with his top-5 NBA athletes for the upcoming season mentioning James in 3rd position after Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry.
Downfall In Rankings
Kendrick was drafted in the 2003 NBA Draft as the 27th pick by the Memphis Grizzles and held his hands on the NBA Championship in the year 2008 when he represented the Boston side. He mentioned to James that “he averaged 30 per game and is still a problem in today’s game”.
The Laker’s missing out on the Championship playoffs can be seen as a major reason for this decline in rankings of the three-time Olympic medalist in the recent ESPN NBA rankings. Not only James but the Net’s Star saw down a gap of seven spots in his rankings shifting to position 8th to that of No.1 in 2021 when he was considered Downfalone of the best players on the planet, however, his knee injury cost him two months of the worth game.
