Kendrick Perkins has slammed the Brooklyn Nets for being “soft” after rookie Bennedict Mathurin scored 32 points for the Indiana Pacers in the Nets’ latest defeat.

It has not been the best of starts to the Brooklyn Nets’ NBA season. The Nets have begun their season with only 1 win in 6 games, and are currently on a four-game losing streak. The Brooklyn franchise’s troubles went from bad to worse in their latest outing against the Indiana Pacers, as the Pacers emerged 125-116 winners against the Nets at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The performance against the Pacers showed a common theme in the Nets’ season so far – their softness and lack of determination to turn things around in their favour. Even though their main men Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have been in good form since the start of the season, their support cast have not lived up to expectations and have often rolled over in times of adversity.

Therefore it comes as no surprise that the best players in the league have always seemed to prefer playing against the Nets – but it all reached the breaking point when rookie Bennedict Mathurin starred with a 32-point performance against the Nets’ on Saturday night.

A team full of talent was outdone by a rookie and it all tipped over when Kendrick Perkins called the Nets “soft.”

What did Kendrick Perkins have to say about the Nets following the Bennedict Mathurin show?

Kendrick Perkins called the Nets “soft” and explained his reasons for his argument too.

Writing on his official Twitter account following the game, the former NBA professional and current analyst ripped into the Nets for their lack of drive and determination. Perkins listed the players who had their best performances of the season against the Nets including Mathurin, and ended his tweet by saying that the whole league knows that the Nets are “soft.”

Ja and Banes – 38 points a piece. Giannis – 43-14-5. Luka – 41-14-11. Mathurin – Career high 32 points. Btw he’s a Rookie. The entire league knows the Nets are soft!!! EVERYONE has them circled on the calendar. Carry the hell on…” wrote Perkins on his Twitter.
