The Los Angeles Lakers have finally done it. The Lakers side who got on to a disastrous 0-5 start after five consecutive losses to the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have finally turned the ride around as they defeated the Nuggets on Sunday night to clinch their first win of the season.

The Lakers welcomed the Nuggets to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night aiming to break their duck. Even though it was the Nuggets who took the early lead in the first quarter, the Lakers showed resilience as they dug deep and put in an inspirational shift to win all three of the remaining quarters and finally open their account with their first win of the season.

The bell at the end of the fourth quarter was met with jubilant celebrations from the Lakers players and their fans who waited a long while to see their team finally secure their first win of the season. However, not everyone was kind enough to support the Lakers’ emotional moment as many pundits took sly digs at the outfit – Kendrick Perkins being one of the pundits concerned.

How did Perkins take a sly dig at the Lakers after their win?

The former NBA professional and current analyst took a sly dig at the Lakers after they registered their 121-110 win over the Nuggets.

Writing on his official Twitter account following the game, Perkins came up with an almost sarcastic tweet as he “celebrated” the Lakers winning their first game of the season. The former NBA champion who won the Championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 wrote: “Lakers got their 1st win of the season!!! Well look at God” – a sly dig at the overly jubilant Lakers side.

Regardless of any criticism they receive, the Lakers will be relieved to finally have won their first game of the season – and set a platform from which they can build a few more wins on.
