Kevin Durant and his Brooklyn Nets had the chance to edge closer to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference if they were to beat the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. Being on the backs of a 12-game winning streak, DeMar DeRozan-led unit ended the entire Nets’ hype train after they beat them 121-112 win.

Durant was phenomenal once again as he dropped 44 points on 15-22 shooting from the field in a hard-fought loss against the Chicago Bulls. The Chicago Bulls shot 53.2 percent from the field as a team, and even unsung third-year forward Patrick Williams tallied the best game of his season with a 22-point effort. This was a big game for him especially when one knows DeMar DeRozan wasn’t at his fluent best.

“In some of our coverages, we were playing catch-up a bit. Against this team, when you got three elite scorers from all angles of the floor, you got to do your work early and you just got to be there on the catch. So, I just felt like, a lot of times, we chasing a bit. And that was just consistent throughout the game, playing from behind,” Durant said, per YES Network.

Kevin Durant accepts how Nets need to improve after the loss against the Bulls

The former MVP, Kevin Durant knows that every game is a learning experience and this loss against Chicago Bulls is no different. Moreover, this loss would be painful as they lost against a team which is well below .500 in the 2022-23 NBA Season.

That being said, after the game, Durant pointed out what the Brooklyn Nets could improve upon as they try to cement themselves further as true title contenders.
