A 12-game winning streak is just what defines the momentum driving Brooklyn Nets in the 2022-23 NBA Season. Being led by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Nets could potentially become the No. 1 seeded team in the Eastern Conference. How drastically has the entire scenario shifted in a couple of months, that what rightly acknowledged by Boston Celtics legends Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett?
The former NBA Champions highlighted how Kevin Durant bursting out publicly upon his teammates has changed their fortune. It was a situation that could’ve even broken the spirits of several Brooklyn Nets’ players but things have only taken a positive turn.
Interestingly, both Pierce and Garnett were those, who condemned Brooklyn Nets after a lackluster, shaky, and mystic start. So, this take from them could be a surprise to many or an indication of how good the Nets have been in the past couple of months.
“I feel like everything started to change when Durant called out his teammates,” Pierce said on Ticket & The Truth. “I remember he was like ‘what do you expect?’ And maybe they woke up from that, because since then he’s stepped up, and you know we always talk about you don’t throw your teammates under the bus to the media.”
Garnett added, “This is something that could be private but sure he was also like ‘I’m Kevin Durant I can say this. I’m going to see where you are all at and we are going to go one way or the other.’ I can’t say the first two months it hasn’t felt like the focus has been on basketball, and it feels like it’s back on basketball.”
