“We ain’t hear no more” – Kevin Durant hits back at Sixers fans who were jeering Ben Simmons after Nets trounced Philly

Kevin Durant fired back at the Sixers fans that were chanting Ben Simmons’ name on Thursday after the Nets thrashed Doc Rivers’s side 129-100 at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Brooklyn Nets can really tear apart any team on their day. On Thursday, it was the Philadelphia 76ers who faced the wrath of Steve Nash’s side.

The blockbuster clash proved to be rather one-sided as the Nets destroyed the Sixers by 29 points at the final whistle. However, shots were fired even after the game as Kevin Durant slammed the Sixers supports for constantly jeering at Ben Simmons during the game.

Simmons, who acrimoniously left the Sixers to join the Nets earlier this year, was unable to feature in the game due to injury. But the Australian was in the crowd and receiving plenty of stick from the Sixers fans.

He was serenaded by a chorus of boos and chants by the Sixers supporters who still had hard feelings about the way he left the team. Simmons demanded a trade away from Philly while refusing to play for Doc Rivers’ side during the early phase of this season.

However, Simmons’ new teammates defended his honour while they were on the court. And Kevin Durant even backed him in his post-game interview.

While speaking to reporters in his post-game interview, Kevin Durant, who scored 25 points to lead the Nets to victory, staunchly defended Ben Simmons. The two-time NBA champion also aimed a dig at the Sixers supporters.

After comprehensively beating the Sixers, Durant said, “It was very quiet towards the end. We ain’t hear no more Ben Simmons chants from the Sixers fans. It was more Nets fans in here than anything.”

Simmons is yet to make his debut for the Nets after making the move to Brooklyn. However, the 25-year-old would be delighted to see the support he received from his new teammates on Thursday. More so, it was a pleasant sight to watch his former team suffer a crushing defeat.
