LeBron James is o the verge of surpassing Kareem Abdul Jabbar in the first week of February, given his current average of more than 28 points per game. While the world of basketball cannot believe that a player would be actually breaking the all-time scoring record, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has already started hyping it up.
In the most recent episode of Jamal Crawford’s podcast, Kevin Durant revealed just how big that day is going to be. Just like millions of basketball fans all around the globe, Kevin Durant, too, is keeping a close eye on the day when LeBron James finally achieves the unthinkable.
“The greatest. The most accomplished,” Durant said of LeBron on a rapid-fire segment.” About to pass Kareem. Damn, that’s gonna be a day.”
Kevin Durant and LeBron James share a great amount of respect for one another and their bond has been evident on the camera itself. Despite battling it out in consecutive NBA Finals series, the duo has been vocal about each other’s prowess and talent regularly.
Safe to say – the game recognizes the game as Kevin Durant himself has not only entered the 20th spot in the all-time record but even surpassed Tim Duncan in the month of December, the former MVP knows how tough it is to see achieve the record LeBron is about to. That being said, the fact that KD has such high-level praise for LeBron and his soon-to-be scoring record speaks volumes of how much respect Durant has for King James.
