Kevin Durant left in awe of Stephen Curry after 40 point night against Cavaliers

Kevin Durant was left in awe of Stephen Curry after his incredible 40-point shooting night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stephen Curry turned on the heat at the Chase Center on Friday night, as he helped the Golden State Warriors to a 106-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. After an uncharacteristically slow start to his season with the defending champions, Curry seems to have finally found his mojo back with back-to-back 40-point performances to get their title defense back on the right track.

Curry took cruise control of a pivotal night for the Warriors as he racked up 40 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Warriors against the Cavaliers on Friday night. Curry had the Chase Center on its feet with a sizzling solo display, becoming the first player in NBA history to record back-to-back games of 40+ points, a field goal percentage of 65%+, and a 5+ 3pt FGM.

It was certainly one of the most remarkable performances of a decorated career for the Warriors superstar, and the absolute peak of the performance came deep into the fourth quarter. The Cavs were 95-87 up with 4:38 left on the clock before Curry turned the game on its head, sinking two three-pointers, a two-pointer, and two free throws to ice the game for the Warriors.

Not just that, Curry also came up with a clutch three pointers to help the Warriors extend their lead once they had it – one that left his former teammate Kevin Durant in awe as well.

What did Kevin Durant have to say about Curry’s clutch three-pointer?

Not only did Curry’s clutch performance leave the NBA community in awe of him, it also left his former Warriors teammate in awe of the four time champion.
