LeBron James got the deserved standing ovation after his blistering performance on his 28th birthday. Bron scored 47 points against Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
The State Farm Arena is known to target elite visitors stepping on their court, but they were seen cheering all his moves. LeBron, the 4-time NBA champion finished up with 47 points alongside 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Simultaneously, Thomas Bryant (19-17-1) and Russell Westbrook (14-8-11) also helped in the 130-121 win.
The Los Angeles Lakers marked their 15th win of the 2022-23 season before closing entering the New Year. Kevin Durant witnessed the great ‘King James’ pound 47 on his birthday, he tweeted, “Masterful 47 I just watched, Lebron James. Masterful…GGz”
James said he told the teammates he would have a 40-point game. “I called it before the game, so I had to make it happen,” James said. “After starting 1 for 5 I didn’t know if it was going to happen.”
Kevin Garnett tweeted, “LeBron getting the same 30-point triple doubles at 38 as he did at 18 is some crazy ish. Redefining Father Time”
“I didn’t even know it was three in four nights. I just knew I had to get my mind and body ready to go. It’s a treat to have my family here and support me on the road, on my birthday. It’s very important to me because they are the rock of everything I do – my mom and my wife and my family,” added LeBron James.
LeBron went 4 for 6 from 3-point range on Friday. His last basket was a banger against Atlanta Hawks’ Dejounte Murray. Now the world knows, you don’t let an undersized player guard James, and that too on his birthday.
Bron now has 303 points scored on his birthdays passing Oscar Robertson who had the all-time best 275.
