Kings star Buddy Hield reacts to his rumored trade to the Lakers

Buddy Hield opened up on his rumoured trade to the Los Angeles Lakers

NBA offseason trades are always interesting ones and the rumours add extra spice to it. One such trade rumour included Sacramento Kings sharpshooter Buddy Hield and Los Angeles Lakers. The LA franchise was looking for a 3-point shooter to compliment Davis and LeBron at that time.

As per the reports, the trade was in the finalization stage, where the Lakers were ready to trade Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell for Buddy Hield. It was clear players swap deal and both the teams were looking to fill in the gaps in their respective rosters.

But Lakers couldn’t get the final nod from their superstar pairing James and Davis, as James was more eager to bring a proven star. LeBron James was supposedly in talks with Russell Westbrook at that period of time and the focus shifted to make a trade with the Wizards instead of the Kings.

The Pacific division competitors recently played each other, where the LA team defeated Sacramento Kings 122-114. Westbrook scored 19 points with 7 boards, while Hield was more productive with 26 points and 5 rebounds. It brought back the “possible trade” discussion and raised many “what if” questions.

Buddy Hield accepted the fact that he felt the deal is nearly done. He said “It did, talking to my agents and the media, of course. The media knows more than the agent and team, basically. But it didn’t happen. So, I’m still here (with the Kings).”

While talking to NBA.com Hield added “it’s basketball and you have to live with it. It’s the business side of it. At the end of the day, I still have a job. I can go to all 30 teams in the league. As long as I have a job, I’m happy.
