Kyle Kuzma claps back at Spencer Dinwiddie who claimed at Wizards players only play for money

Kyle Kuzma might’ve not found a seat in the Los Angeles Lakers as the Purple and Gold chose Rui Hachimura over reuniting with their former star yet there is no denying that Kuz has not given up on his current teammates. The latest to justify this claim is how he has fired back at Spencer Dinwiddie.

Why did Kuzma do so? Spencer Dinwiddie made a huge claim that the Washington Wizards players never played to win basketball games but only to secure some paychecks. In simpler words, players at Wizards only play for money rather than the actual spirit of the sport.

Dinwiddie said, “For them, it’s a showcase. They’re over there trying to get paid, not trying to play winning basketball. For a team that has real aspirations and has an MVP, went to the conference finals last year, we have to be better to a man.”

Kyle responded by saying, “The funny thing is they don’t play winning basketball.”

The Washington Wizards have keenly held onto Kuzma, especially after the way they performed in the 2022-23 season for them. Kyle Kuzma has averaged 22.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field, so it is no surprise that there is a lot of interest in him around the league. On the other hand, Spencer Dinwiddie has been of great support to the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic, averaging 16.9 points per game.

That being said, it isn’t just the Los Angeles Lakers but a lot of teams have been linked to Kyle Kuzma at this point and it seemed that an exit at the trade deadline was likely.
