Kyle Lowry in his first season for the Miami Heat was left disappointed with the way his team’s season ended in the ECF.
Miami was knocked out by the Boston Celtics last night. They suffered a heartbreaking loss in game 7 at their own home court. They were the 1st seed in the East, and obviously had a good season, but their main aim was a championship.
This was the first season for Kyle Lowry in Miami. He joined them from the Raptors, and he wanted to lead this team to a championship. He was left unsatisfied with their exit and was left frustrated because of his injuries which halted him throughout the season.
Kyle Lowry said, “You don’t know how many more opportunities you will have to get back to this. And so for me, to be personally honest with you, it was a waste of a year.”
He added, “I only play to win championships. And so, it was fun, and I appreciate the guys, my teammates, and I appreciate the opportunity. But for me, it’s a waste of a year. You’re not playing for a championship, you’re not winning the championship, it’s a wasted year.“
The fans around the league were quick to react to Lowry’s voes. They took a dig after the veteran point guard wasn’t able to perform for his team in a way as Jimmy Butler did.
Lakers fans also jumped into the discussion as they were interested in getting him last summer. Miami has a huge summer ahead of them, and they’ll need to make big decisions if they want to make a roster capable of winning a championship. Jimmy Butler can’t do everything by himself, and he’ll require some help.
