Lakers superstar LeBron James might return before the Detroit Pistons game
LA Lakers had a chaotic start to their 2022-23 NBA season, and their record speaks for it. Currently, the Lakers are at a worrisome 3-10 record and stand 14th in the Western Conference.
The team’s chemistry is still off and it shows in every game they play. To top it off, LA Lakers don’t even have efficient 3-point shooters who can turn up and save the day.
However, there are several positive takes from this Lakers team. Russell Westbrook is doing a phenomenal job coming off the bench, a new role that Westbrook brilliantly adapted and accepted.
Anthony Davis is showing up, and if he does not get injured, the Lakers will have a strong anchorman to hold down Lakers’ both offense and defense.
Furthermore, Lonnie Walker IV and Austin Reaves have been a surprise element for the Lakers. Every night they are putting up significant numbers and are helping the team immensely in defense. Also, Patrick Beverly does his job perfectly every night, that is lockdown defending.
In the last game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers really displayed their brilliance. The Lakers had a convincing 116-103 win against the Kevin Durant-led Brooklyn Nets.
However, among all the ups and downs that the Lakers are facing, there is one man who has been absent.
All-Star LeBron James has been absent from his Lakers duties since last week Wednesday. King James has suffered a left adductor strain which sidelined him naturally.
Currently, James is in his recovery phase and for this reason, he has missed quite some games for the Lakers.
Notably, James was doing his best to play through a sore left foot since the start of the 2022-23 regular season. Seems like playing through the sore foot finally has led to this additional injury.
According to sources, the status of LBJ’s injury has improved. However, James has not recovered completely.
Ahead of the Detroit Pistons game tomorrow, James’s injury status has been updated to questionable. This means that he might or might not play tomorrow.
Notably, tomorrow’s matchup against the Pistons is quite winnable. The Detroit Pistons are (3-12) in this NBA season. It is the Lakers’ home game which will be held in Crypto.com Arena.
If LBJ returns, it will be a huge boost to Lakers’ offense. When James plays, the Lakers are 3.1 points per game better on the court. Nevertheless, if James does not play tomorrow, it will be better for him as LBJ will get more time to recover.
