LA Lakers injury update: Lakers get massive boost with two stars expected to return on Friday

LA Lakers Injury Update: The Los Angeles Lakers were handed a massive boost with two of their stars expected to return before their next game.

The Los Angeles Lakers brought an end to their five-game losing streak with an important 116-103 win over the Brooklyn Nets. It has not particularly been a fruitful season for the Lakers so far who have struggled with form as well as injuries, but a win over the Nets in the absence of LeBron James would mean a lot to the Lakers as they try to get their season back on track.

While the Lakers started their season with five losses in a row, two consecutive wins helped better the locker room morale by a stretch. However, the Lakers could not keep up with their touch of form courtesy of injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis as they went on to lose five on the bounce – before they won against the Nets at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday.

The win over the Nets was an important one as not only did the Lakers break a five-game losing streak, but they also won against a top side without the talismanic LeBron James who missed out with a left abductor strain. The Lakers will feel the tide is turning in their favor as even though James will continue to miss out, they will have two of their stars back for their next game.

Who will the LA Lakers have back for their next game?

The Lakers will have the pairing of Dennis Schröder and Thomas Bryant back for their next game.

The Lakers have their next game against the Detroit Pistons in four days, and have a relatively manageable schedule for the month of November. The franchise will also be buoyed by the return of two squad depth options who have missed the start of the season due to thumb injuries – but will be back in order to help the Lakers give rest to more important starters or role players.

While the return of guard Schröder will help the Lakers have a backup option for Russell Westbrook, Thomas Bryant is a center who can fill in for Anthony Davis and can make the frontline look a lot bigger – even allowing Davis to play as a part of the four.
