Prior to the 76ers game, the Lakers received a major lift from LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ returns
Thanks to Anthony Davis and LeBron James, the Lakers will be playing a rather important game on Friday against Joel Embiid, James Harden, and the Philadelphia 76ers, giving them a 2-2 record on their current six-game East Coast road trip.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been without a couple of key players lately. Anthony Davis experienced flu-like symptoms the night they played the Cleveland Cavaliers. Due to pain in his ankle, LeBron James missed the game on Wednesday as well. The Lakers’ defeats in both contests were predictable.
As the Los Angeles Lakers resume their Eastern Conference road trip against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night, LeBron James and Anthony Davis both have made a comeback to the squad finally.
Averaged nearly 35.3 points, 15.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.9 blocks per game in the 10 games before getting sick with flu-like symptoms, Davis has been in exceptional form lately. Similar to how the Lakers have improved recently, James has been outstanding. Over his last seven games, he has averaged 27.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists while shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc.
They will be playing the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia, who lost to the Houston Rockets on Monday and welcomed back their ace point guard James Harden after a month on the disabled queue. Tyrese Maxey is still out for the Philadelphia 76ers after suffering a foot injury against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 18.
The key point is, though, that the superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis for the matchup will be available and the Lakers and Sixers could be set for a fun showdown between at least two of the best bigs in the league on Friday.
