LA Lakers star LeBron James lose against race against Stephen Curry in jersey sales. Know more about it.
LA Lakers LeBron James and Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry both might not be having a great regular season but they have something to brag about and rejoice about.
Steph Curry has personal bragging rights, while LeBron James can brag about his team, that is the Los Angeles Lakers.
Notably, the NBA and National Basketball Players Association announced the top jersey sales and merchandise sales on Friday.
In the list released, GSW’s superstar, Stephen Curry tops the jersey sales list for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign. The Golden State Warriors are currently the reigning NBA champions and individually, Curry is having a great season.
On the other hand, four-time NBA champion, LeBron James stands number 2 on the jersey sales list. However, King James is number 1 on another much-coveted list.
LBJ’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers topped the teamwide rankings in merchandise sales (it includes jerseys too). Further, Golden State Warriors are number 2 in the teamwide rankings, while the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls round out the top five.
Also, Phoenix Suns star, Devin Booker has gained tremendous popularity according to jersey sales. Booker is one of the most popular players in the league and has the eighth-best-selling jersey in the NBA.
Nevertheless, Memphis Grizzlies star guard, Ja Morant ranks sixth in jersey sales, while Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics ranks seventh. Both the players are hence ahead of Devin Booker in terms of jersey sales.
Interestingly, one surprising omission from the top 15 jersey sales on the players’ side is Nikola Jokić, the Denver Nuggets superstar.
The Denver Nuggets big man is the back-to-back MVP and could potentially win a third straight MVP trophy this season. However, Jokic still ranks behind a number of other players in terms of jersey popularity and sales.
