One of the finest Basketball players ever LeBron James along with rapper Drake are sued for the movie Black Ice they co-produced.

According to reports, Drake, LeBron, and their business associates are the targets of a lawsuit filed in Manhattan state supreme court by former NBA executive director Billy Hunter.

The Black Ice documentary is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 10. It is based on the book written by George and Darril Fosty named, ‘Black Ice: The Lost History of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes, 1895 to 1925’.

The intellectual property rights for the hockey documentary Black Ice are the subject of a USD 10 million lawsuit against Drake, LeBron James, and Maverick Carter.

Billy Hunter claims to have the exclusive legal rights to make any film about the former Colored Hockey League of Canada and he filed a lawsuit for the same.

According to the lawsuit, “While the defendants LeBron James, Drake and Maverick Carter are internationally known and renowned in their respective fields of basketball and music, it does not afford them the right to steal another’s intellectual property

Hunter claims that in exchange for a total of $265,000, he negotiated a contract with George and Darril Frosty, the authors, to get the movie rights. However, they also reached a deal with LeBron James and Drake for the same.

The authors stated that the documentary did not break their agreement with Hunter as he signed for a movie and what Drake and Bron produced is a documentary.

LeBron James and Drake’s Relationship

LeBron and rapper Drake are great friends and are often seen hanging out together. LeBron posts rap stories of Drake on social platforms and Drake attends games LeBron and is a huge fan of the Lakers star player.
