Just like LeBron James, Luka Doncic was able to establish himself as one of the greatest generational talents even before he entered the NBA. The Slovenian International established himself as the best player in the European league and could potentially be one of the most looked-after players, becoming the face of the league when King James hangs up his boots.
When the spoken-off giants looked horns on the NBA court on Thursday, LeBron James could not help himself from acknowledging the legend of this 23-year-old youngster, who dropped game-high 35 points to secure a hard-fought win for his team in double OT.
Despite enduring their 23rd loss of the season, LeBron gushed over why he loves Luka Doncic unconditionally, “His size. I mean he’s gigantic. A 6-8 point guard. He’s 225 pounds. He has the ball on a string. And more importantly, his vision.”
LeBron James was the player Luka Doncic adored when he was growing up, and now sharing the court with his legend is always a special feeling. Previously, Doncic even admitted to not being able to replicate James’ longevity as he hoped to end his basketball career before the age of 38.
That being said, as LeBron James is trying to turn the fortune around for his Purple and Gold side, Doncic is already leading the Mavericks brilliantly. The Mavs are 5th in the Western Conference whereas the Lakers are fighting hard to still secure a berth in the play-in tournament spots.
