LaMelo Ball made an acrobatic alley-oop pass in the game against the Magic
Charlotte Hornets hosted Orlando Magic in their intra-conference matchup. The game was evenly poised until the third quarter when LaMelo Ball made an impressive steal and alley-oop pass, getting the bench on their feet.
Magic had the possession and a pass was intercepted by Ball. Continuing with the possession he went for the easy layup. But on seeing Miles Bridges following up, he changed his play. He then did an acrobatic, between the legs alley-oop pass, which Bridges finished with the two-handed dunk.
NBA compared the pass with Crawford’s similar pass to Blake Griffin when the two were teammates at Clippers. Though the finish by Griffin was a huge one-handed slam, both alley-oops were nearly identical.
The Hornets took a 5 point lead after the dunk, and Magic called a timeout. Sadly the home team couldn’t finish the game in the same manner, as Orlando defeated the Hornets 116-109. But the play still remains a highlight reel for the game.
2021 Rookie of the season LaMelo Ball finished the game with 23 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds, while Bridges had 20 points in the game. Wanger brothers played a huge role in the Magic win, with Mortiz Wanger scoring game-high 26 points off the bench. Franz Wanger scored 19 points with 6 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Hornets will take on the New York Knicks next
The Hornets will face New York Knicks next at the Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are coming off a 108-85 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
They are unbeaten in 2 games as well and the Hornets will be wary of that.
The 7th place team from Charlotte will be looking forward to getting back on track with a win over the Knicks.
