Lance Stephenson returned to the Indiana Pacers home court as a Pacer player after 2018, shining in the game with incredible 1st half performance

The Pacers game against Brooklyn Nets was destined 2 players return – Kyrie Irving to NBA action and Lance Stephenson to home court. While Kyrie had a subpar game by his standards, Stephenson played a huge role in the Pacers’ offense in the game.

Indiana Pacers signed Lance Stephenson on a 10-day contract under hardship rule. He had already played in 2 away games with the pacers against the Cavaliers and the Knicks. He made his home debut for this season against Brooklyn Nets.

Stephenson played the whole season in NBA with the Lakers in 2019 before moving to the Chinese league. He again got a chance to play in NBA due to Covid-19 outburst among teams and was part of the Hawks team late in December. The Pacers then signed him on 2nd Jan 2022.

Lance Stephenson came off the bench in the first quarter for the pacers. He received a huge round of applause and standing ovation from the crowd. Former Pacers rookie Stephenson started hot, scoring 4-4 before missing a mid-range jump shot in the first quarter. He celebrated his 3-pointer with a typical “Guitar play” style.

Right after the introduction, Stephenson scored 9 straight points for the Pacers, giving them the lead midway into the 1st quarter. He started off with 3-pointer, his 1st long-range shot this season with the team. The Pacers crowd was cheering every Lance possession, and he scored baskets for much of the fans’ joy. Lance score 20 points in just 6 minutes in 1st half.

Stephenson quickly became the focal point for the Pacers’ offense as he continued his impressive shooting in the 2nd quarter also. Myles Turner was playing great defense blocking 3 nets attempts in the 1st half only while Sabonis was effective at both ends of the floor for the team.

Behind Stephenson’s game-high 24 points at half Indiana took a shocking 13-point lead against the explosive Nets team. Lance was very effective from the field with 82% shooting. He scored 4 out of 5 from the 3-point line in 1st half.

But Nets got control of the game in 2nd half, closing the game with 129-121 over Indiana Pacers. Stephenson score a career-high 30 points in-game, while Domantas Sabonis had a triple-double with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Kevin Durant had a game-high 35 points.

Pacers will host Utah Jazz on 8th Jan, while Nets will take on defending champions Milwaukee Bucks in Brooklyn.
