LeBron James recently shared his comments on Kyrie Irving and his recent anti-Semitism controversy.
Kyrie Irving has been in the headlines over the past few weeks for all the wrong reasons. The Brooklyn Nets superstar recently endorsed a film portraying anti-Semitic sentiments that went viral on social media in no time and attracted plenty of backlash from fans and the Nets hierarchy – eventually resulting in Irving being suspended for five games without pay.
Irving made his way into the news after he promoted the Amazon page of a film named “Hebrews and Negroes: Wake Up Black America” – a 2018 film based on a book of the same name that portrays anti-Semitic tropes and ideologies. The tweet went viral in no time and immediately prompted the Nets and their own Joe Tsai to come up with a statement.
While Tsai condemned the promotion of the film in his statement, Irving did not budge from his stance – and when he stood by his word even when asked by the media, the Nets suspended the star. The Nets suspended Irving for five games without pay, and it was then that Irving decided to finally come out with an apology for his actions.

The controversy has attracted plenty of backlash from the NBA community, but not many players have spoken out about it. However, LeBron James became the first active player to comment on the controversy recently.
What were LeBron James’ comments about the Kyrie Irving controversy?
LeBron recently gave his thoughts on his former teammate’s controversy.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar who won the 2016 NBA Championship with Kyrie for the Cleveland Cavaliers gave his two cents on the current situation. When asked by the press about his thoughts on the Kyrie incident, LeBron condemned his former teammate for his actions and also said that his actions ended up “being harmful to a lot of people.”
“It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, how tall you are or what position you’re in,” James said following the Lakers’ loss to the Utah Jazz last week. James added: “If you are promoting, soliciting or saying harmful things to any community that harms people, then I don’t respect it. I don’t condone it. I hope he understands that what he said was harmful to a lot of people.”
