LeBron James needs 936 more points to surpass the illustrious Abdul-record. Jabbar, the former Laker scored 38,387 points in 1,560 games, while LeBron has only scored 37,451 points in 1,381 games. With 7,631 points in 266 games, James has now surpassed all previous scorers in the NBA Playoffs.
