LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers have been majorly deprived of Anthony Davis’ presence on the NBA hardwood. Having registered hard-fought wins against the Memphis Grizzlies and overcoming a 25-point deficit against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday Night on the road, LeBron really wants Anthony Davis to return for Purple and Gold.
The 38-year-old has got elite help from Russell Westbrook, Thomas Bryant, and Dennis Schroder but Anthony Davis’ return could make them a playoff-caliber team with their main man returning to the lineup.
When asked to the four-time NBA Champ about the return of his partner in crime, he responded, “I don’t want to get too excited. I just want him to take has much time as he needs and when he’s ready and he feels like he’s ready to put on a uniform, I’ll get excited again.”
After the team fell to a disastrous 2-10 record to start the 2022-23 NBA season, many wrote Darvin Ham’s Los Angeles Lakers off from making the playoffs.
No team in history has ever made the playoffs after the start the Lakers had, which saw them go 0-5 in the first 5 games of the season. However, they’ve been comfortably over .400 after their opening 12-game stretch even with LeBron and Anthony Davis missing time in this span.
That being said, will we witness the magic of Anthony Davis yet again, in the same form as what we saw, when he returns for his LA Lakers? Remains to be seen.
