LeBron James got criticized for his latest Instagram post

LeBron James’ Instagram status is targeted by his critics. Let us go through the post and check all the angles related to it.

LA Lakers Megastar LeBron James has always been active on social media. Some of his posts were subject to criticism by media houses and trollers. His latest Instagram status is one such post that has attracted criticism.

In his update, he is pointing towards 3 different diseases with similar symptoms. With this, LeBron shows his dissatisfaction about how well the League is handling the Covid-19 situation. As per the NBA regulations, any player who has shown slight symptoms of Covid-19 has to serve 10-days isolation, unless he provides a negative report within 24-hrs window.

LeBron’s timing of the post suggests that he is unhappy with the NBA procedure and actions to contain Covid-19 spread within the teams. His cryptic post suggests that NBA’s rule is not specific for Covid but rather covers a variety of comparatively harmful diseases having similar symptoms.

Covid-19 has hit the NBA 75th season badly. Many teams have suffered its consequences. The Lakers are current victims of the pandemic. LA Team will have nearly 5 players sidelined due to the COVID-19 protocol. 4 guards in the Lakers rotation are on the list of sidelined players.

Some of LeBron’s fans see the funny side of James’ status, while some fans have warned LeBron to be ready for criticism after the post. Some of James’ haters have started trolling the king about the post already, asking him to delete the same immediately. Major Media houses and NBA pundits are yet to react to LeBron’s status update.

Why LeBron James Post is targeted?

Many NBA franchises had players sidelined due to Covid-19 outbursts within the team. The issue was so critical that NBA had postponed many games due to a pandemic. Also, the world is not fully safe from the Covid situation yet.

Under this scenario, the general public would consider influential personalities like LeBron to be more proactive and responsible. James’ status was neither the sign of any of the qualities people were hoping for but was mocking the NBA’s efforts to stop the spread of the virus within teams.

The Lakers have signed replacement players under the hardship exemption rule to fill up the team requirements. NBA has also officially released a list of players sidelined due to the protocol enforced upon them.

Like LeBron, the Chicago Bulls coach had also pointed out the same issue. The Bulls were also hit hard by the pandemic situation in the early December period and around 7 players were sidelined as per the protocol. But Coach Billy Donovan mentioned that no Covid related symptoms.

His exact words regarding symptoms were, “Maybe some of it’s from the vaccination, we’ve got a lot of guys sitting home with no symptoms. I understand the testing protocols, and I understand what the leagues trying to do in terms of keeping and making sure everybody’s safe.”

He further said “But we do have guys back there that feel fine. And that’s an obvious thing too because I think when guys have gone through the real, real diff of getting really, made it a lot harder for them coming back.”

This was shared during the Bulls matchup against Miami heat earlier this month. It really is important that NBA should have differentiation between Covid-19 and other similar diseases, and players should also take part in the leagues’ fight against the pandemic.
