LeBron James has come up with some very high praise for Zion Williamson after the Los Angeles Lakers won over the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans competed in a contest that went right down to the wire at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday. While the visitors looked set for a win, Matt Ryan of the Lakers came up with an incredible three-pointer buzzer-beater to take the game to overtime – which the Lakers won.
While the Lakers began the game on the front foot by winning the first quarter, the Pelicans slowly grew into the game with time courtesy of some heroics from Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum. While McCollum racked up 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists – it was Zion Williamson who scored the most points for the Pelicans.
The 22-year-old forward had an incredible game where he racked up 27 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists – and helped the Pelicans dominate the Lakers for three straight quarters. Williamson also completed 11 of his 21 field goals – securing one of his best performances since coming back from a long-term injury. Despite his heroics, the Pelicans failed to hold on to their lead – and it was Matt Ryan’s last-second buzzer-beater that equalled the scores and took the game to overtime.
Even though the Lakers won the game in overtime, it did not stop LeBron James from addressing the press about Zion Williamson’s performance.
