Nike inaugurated the LeBron James Innovation Center at Nike Headquarters in Oregon in the presence of the Lakers star LeBron.
NBA superstar LeBron James needs no introduction. Recently, the Lakers star attended the grand opening of an innovation centre at the Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
James was given a special introduction by Nike when he passed through and gave high-fives to employees. James initially signed a $90 million deal with the company in 2003 when he entered the NBA.
NBA legend and his fans worldwide also loved this gesture from Nike. LeBron said during the inauguration, “I never imagined something like this when I signed here 20 years ago” LeBron is one of the most prominent athletes in the history of sports and Nike appreciated him with the innovation centre.
The Lebron James Innovation Center at Nike HQ is an 84,00 square foot structure devoted to sports research. LeBron James is the only athlete with a building named after them on the campus of such a big company.
It is known that LeBron rejected offers from various other brands and chose Nike over everything. Nike is paying the athlete with a tremendously huge centre.
The LeBron James Nike Innovation Lab is the name of the building, which can employ approximately 700 workers. The new building will serve as a development funnel for Nike’s upcoming innovations.
A full-size basketball court, a 200-meter endurance track, a 100-meter straightaway, and an artificial-turf training pitch are among the centre’s top amenities.
According to Nike, they’re all designed to help photographers capture players in motion at top speed. Nike copywriter Alex Tam tweeted about the occasion.
Alex wrote, “LeBron James is here at Nike WHQ in Beaverton to celebrate the grand opening of his building 👑”
This year, the Lakers will try to bounce back after their embarrassing last season. LeBron will play his year 20 and compete to win his fifth ring and the second one with the purple and gold.
They acquired Patrick Beverley this season and with healthy Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook, the Lakers are a legit title contender and threat to the rest of the NBA if they play at the highest level.
