LeBron James joins an elite list featuring just eight other NBA legends – stars to have played 20 seasons or more.
LeBron James has had an incredible career in the NBA to say the very least of it. The Los Angeles Lakers is a four-time NBA champion, a four-time MVP and a 15-time All-Star selection while having turned out for franchises such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat and the Lakers – a career that’s established him as one of the greatest to ever step on a basketball court.
LeBron’s claim to being one of the greatest basketball players ever is constantly boosted by his record-breaking ability to be in the record books. While he became the first player in NBA history to rack up 10,000 points, assists and rebounds in his legendary career, LeBron has yet another record in his sights – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing record for most NBA points.
In order to break the aforementioned record, LeBron will have to step foot on the basketball court for the 20th season in his legendary NBA career – a feat that ranks him amongst the very top tier of NBA players when it comes to longevity. The 37-year-old joins an elite list consisting of some of the all-time greats of the game, as he gears up for the 20th season of his NBA career.
LeBron joins some undisputed elite company as he approaches the 20th season of his career.
It turns out that only eight other players in NBA history have played for as long as 20 seasons in their career. While Vince Carter has played in the NBA for the most number of seasons with 22, he is followed by Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Robert Parrish and Kevin Willis with 21 each.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, and Jamal Crawford are up next with 20 seasons each – followed by the newest addition to the list in LeBron. However, it will not be surprising to see the King at the very top of this list by the time he calls it a day on his legendary career.
