LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers have created history this season – although not in the way that they would have wanted to.

LeBron James is in his own right, one of the best players in the world and one of the greatest players to ever step on a basketball court. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is an NBA legend and now in the 20th season of his legendary career, has shattered dozens of all-time records and ends up breaking or equaling records almost every time he steps on a court.

While LeBron is right up there in the all time charts for points, rebounds, assists and is the only player in NBA history to have 10,000 points, rebounds, and assists in his career – the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has recently created an unwanted record. And it turns out that this time, he did not even have to step on a basketball court this time to be a part of the history books.

The Sacramento Kings came out on top against the Miami Heat to clinch their first win of the season, and it automatically meant that the Lakers were now statistically the worst team in the league. The Kings’ win also meant that for the first time, a LeBron James team has the outright worst record in the NBA while it also created history for the Lakers.

What unwanted franchise history for the Lakers has been created?

The Kings’ win over the Heat on Saturday night meant that the Lakers are now the last remaining winless team in the competition.

The Kings who were winless in their first four games finally won their first game on their fifth attempt, which meant that the struggling Lakers are the only team yet to win a game this season. This marks only the second time in competition history that the Lakers have been the last remaining winless team, since the 1957/58 season that had only eight teams taking part.

The Lakers will hope to get rid of the winless tag as soon as possible as they go up against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.
