The basketball star’s reaction was that of an amazed man, to one of the greatest modern-day heavyweight fights of all time – Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3
Tyson Fury prevailed against Deontay Wilder in an absolute slugfest.
Having the upper hand in the rivalry, Fury took on Wilder in a trilogy fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
At one point (Round 3) it looked like it was Fury all the way after he scored a knockdown. However, Wilder beat the count and came back a man possessed in round 4.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ knocked Fury down twice in a wild, wild round. A cloud of uncertainty loomed over the T-Mobile Arena.
The pair exchanged some vicious blows. But after round 8, Fury began taking control. Sensing Wilder getting gassed out, Fury began unloading.
Finally, in round 11, Fury knocked Wilder out cold to seal the deal.
Social media users were buzzing at what they had just witnessed. A plethora of Twitter reactions followed.
LeBron James in awe of Fury-Wilder HW classic
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James couldn’t contain his amazement following the conclusion of the trilogy.
Taking to Twitter, James wrote:
“HELLUVA FIGHT!!! CLASSIC #FuryWilder3.”
Now that Fury is done with Wilder, he will be out trying to fulfil his quest of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Oleksandr Usyk is likely to be his next opponent. There is also a slim chance that it might be Anthony Joshua, provided the Brit beats Usyk in a rematch (less likely to happen, and if it does, Usyk might challenge for a trilogy fight).
