LeBron James refuses to make any prediction on 2020 FIFA World Cup Final

When LeBron James delivered a classy message to Cristiano Ronaldo, after the latter’s team (Portugal) were knocked out of the FIFA World Cup by Morocco in the Quarter Finals. It was clear that the 37-year-old is keeping a close eye on football’s biggest tournament. Result of which, he was recently asked about his predictions ahead of the Finals.

While Lionel Messi’s Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 to advance into the Finals, France took down the African storm – Morocco 2-0 to clinch a berth in the finale showdown. On which, LeBron James made his feelings perfectly clear.

James said in the post-game interview after Lakers beat Nuggets, as quoted by Daily Mail, “I’m not gonna choose. I just wanna see a great match like the rest of the world…It’s gonna be a great one, and I look forward to seeing two of the greatest to ever play that sport go at it.”

What next for LeBron James?

While it was clear that LeBron James was required to pick one superstar amongst Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, the former NBA superstar blatantly refused to take any sides as he revealed his desire to watch a good encounter between Argentina and France on Sunday.

On one hand where France will not look to concede first against Argentina, the latter team would be itching to give their best-ever striker – Lionel Messi, the greatest farewell.

Given that Messi has come close previously (in 2014), his experience and performance will be clutch in deciding the outcome for his country.

That being said, for LeBron James – it looks like he will be without Anthony Davis as his team locks horns against the Washington Wizards. Being 12-16 after the first 28 regular-season games, this is about the perfect time for this purple and gold side to turn the tie in their favor.
