LeBron James has been a part of the NBA for 20 years, wherein he has seen a plethora of talented players competing against him. Having seen the legendary of Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Dwayne Wade amongst other stars, King James revealed just why Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is very special.
When Los Angeles Lakers locked horns against the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, the Purple and Gold led by as many as 11 points going into halftime. But as soon as both the teams came out, the home team blew away LeBron James and his men by dropping 51 points in the entirety of only the third quarter. Which was ironically the most points ever scored in a single quarter on Christmas Day.
On one hand where LeBron James finished the game with game-high 38 points, Doncic had a much better impact on the game. The Slovenian international registered 32 points, 9 assists and 9 rebounds to lead his team to a 124-115 win.
LeBron James hails Luka Doncic
Turning back the clock, on an episode of The Shop, Bron hailed Luka Doncic by stating, “His size. I mean he’s gigantic. A 6’8 point guard. He’s 225 pounds. He has the ball on a string. And more importantly, his vision. That’s why I love him.”
Perhaps Doncic stood tall on LeBron James’ words on him. Not only did he lead his team past the victory line, but his terrific leadership was on display, this time right in front of LeBron.
James added, “He can control a game. He doesn’t even have to shoot. He’ll walk the ball up the court ten straight times and get to his spot every single time, just because of his pace. He knows when he comes off a pick and roll if they’re hard showing or if they hedge or if they dropping the pick and roll. He knows I can turn the corner because I got this shoulder, and I know the third line of defense, when I get there, if I just slow down and use my pivots, not even jump, just the Euro one-two, this guy’s flying by every time. It’s the mind.”
