LeBron James has set his goals for the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the upcoming NBA season at the media day
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar sat down to reveal his goals for the 2022/23 season on the occasion of media day ahead of the start of the new season. The four-time champion looked adamant to get the Lakers back to their porch after a disappointing couple of seasons, and made it very clear that he wishes to get the Lakers back in contention for the NBA Championship.
It was only a couple of years ago that the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Championship for the last time. The pairing of LeBron and Anthony Davis emerged as the best one-two combo in the league, but the Lakers could not keep up their form owing to circumstances – mostly due to an unfortunate streak of injuries.
However, LeBron is motivated to get back to the highest level. When asked by the media if he is motivated to get the Lakers back up to the levels they were at during their successful campaign in 2020, LeBron made it crystal clear that he plans on bringing back the good days at the Lakers with hard work and a desire to contend for the Championship.
LeBron underlined his goals very clearly and said that it is unacceptable to not be able to compete for a Championship at a franchise like the Lakers.
“There’s definitely a chip on my shoulder, a chip on our shoulder and just wearing this [Lakers] uniform is just unacceptable not to be able to compete for a championship.”
Bron added: “It’s about putting the work in, you know, every single day we wanna come in here and put the work – and if we do that, we’re gonna put ourselves in a position where we can compete every single night at a Championship level. And, that’s just And that’s just the motto I’ve always had.”
The four time champion sounded motivated to bring a fifth ring and a second Championship title home for the Lakers, and fans might as well be excited for the new season to tip-off.
