Joel Embiid has just dropped his best performance of the 2022-23 season against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at home. Having lost to Serbian International in the previous MVP race, many expected Joel to have an unsaid beef with Jokic. However, as it turns out, it has never been the case between these two.
After dropping a game-high 47 points and 18 rebounds against the No. 1 side in the Western Conference, Embiid revealed how highly he thinks about Nikola Jokic and his game in the post-game interview.
Embiid stated, “It’s not a rivalry, I love the big fella man. Two-time MVP, one of the best players in the league and he’s such a good player, I’m a big fan.”
There is no doubt that Joel Embiid has a huge amount of respect for Nikola Jokic. He, the same as millions of basketball fanatics all around the world, is clearly a player that can appreciate what Jokic can do on the court. Any matchup between the two is bound to create the hype, even if they aren’t technically rivals on the basketball court.
That being said, the Sixers are now on the backs of seven wins in a row and are now only one place behind Boston Celtic in the Eastern Conference.
