Chicago Bulls were beaten by the Mavs defense and Luka Doncic huge game

Dallas Mavericks are feeling high right now. They got a positive update on Luka Doncic’s availability and he marked his return with a huge triple-double game against Chicago Bulls. Doncic was questionable for the game due to sprained right ankle but his plays didn’t show any such issue.

Besides Doncic, Dorian Finney-Smith also returned from illness. Both made it to the starting lineup for the Mavs and these returns caused the game to Chicago Bulls. Notable absentees for the game were Kristaps Porzingis and coach Jason Kidd as both are under NBA Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocol. But the Mavs delivered a Masterclass performance to overcome the Bulls.

Chicago team was dominated at both ends of the floor as Mavericks registered an emphatic 113-99 victory over them. The Bulls’ top scorers DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine were limited to 20 points each with a great defensive display from the Mavs team.

Doncic performed the key role in the win, scoring 23 points with 12 rebounds and 12 assists in the game. This is his 39th triple-double for the Mavs, a regular performer for the team. Josh Green also managed to better his scoring, setting a new career-high points tally to 18 points.

Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks making the League more interesting

After ending the Bulls’ longest winning streak (9 games) which was the best in NBA this season, Dallas Mavericks now have their own season-best streak. They have now won 5 games in a row defeating very powerful teams in the run.

After allowing just 82 points to the Warriors, this is the second time that Dallas has managed to contain such a top offensive team under 100 points. Interestingly Mavs have won the last 5 games with 16 or more points. What a dominant performance against elite teams like the Warriors, Bulls, and the Nuggets. This improved Mavs’ defense could be an alarming sign for the rest of the league.

Maverick’s centerpiece, Luka Doncic has huge potential, and his talent is unquestionable. He already has achieved so much in NBA at a very young age only. Doncic is the 4th youngest player to score a triple-double in NBA but with today’s stats, he now has the NBA record for most triple-doubles for an age of 23 or less.

Doncic now has 3rd consecutive 20+ point game with around 10+ assists and 5+ rebounds. His emergence to top form will help the Mavs in upcoming fixtures and make a bold statement in the postseason also.

A fully fit Mavericks team and similar performances from the rotational players could make life difficult for their opponents. The Mavs next face New York Knicks at the Garden.
