Luka Doncic has earned a name for himself in the NBA by causing havoc in the European basketball circuit previously. The 23-year-old Point Guard recently went on to state how scoring points in the NBA is much easier than scoring points in Europe. The same sentiment was agreed by Giannis Antetokounmpo as well in the past.

The Slovenian International has not only represented Real Madrid but has led his country in the Euro Championship as well, wherein he has competed against some of the most underrated professionals from the same place. Perhaps, this is just why his take was looked upon so thoroughly by plenty in and around the NBA world.

Making an appearance on ‘The Old Man and The Three’ podcast, Luka joined JJ Redick in expressing his views in detail on the same matter.

What was opinionated by Luka Doncic?

The frontrunner of the 2022-23 MVP accolade stated, “Yeah, I was surprised. I didn’t expect in my second year — when I started playing way better than my rookie year — to [do that]. When I came to the NBA, I never expected to be this good of a scorer. I was never really a scorer. I was really surprised.”

Luka Doncic wasn’t the only one to highlight this difference but even Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo added to the same sentiment and acknowledged how scoring points in European circuits needs to be dynamic.

The two-time MVP added, “The game in Europe is way harder than the game in the NBA. And I don’t want to disrespect [NBA players]; the talent obviously in the NBA is way higher. But the space, it’s just [different], like you have a lot of lanes to drive the ball and create. I think over there, it’s more intense.”
