24-year-old Mac McClung was spotted wearing the Puma Rise Nitro basketball shoe during the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
As the Dunk contest progressed, it was revealed by Nick DePaula of ESPN and Boardroom via Twitter that 76ers star Mac McClung has signed a shoe deal with Puma.
Further, McClung also confirmed his Puma signing. He shared social media posts of his own, sharing the news with his followers with a post simply captioned “Excited to join the @puma family.”
With this Puma signing, McClung now belongs to a stacked Puma roster of basketball talent that includes NBA players like LaMelo Ball, Deandre Ayton, R.J. Barrett, Kyle Kuzma, and even WNBA star Breanna Stewart.
Matthew “Mac” McClung played college basketball for Georgetown University and Texas Tech University before joining the NBA.
However, McClung’s NBA journey is still not a smooth sail. McClung entered the 2021 NBA Draft but went undrafted.
Since then, McClung has been an NBA G-League player and sometimes plays as a two-way player for the NBA teams.
Since 2021, McClung has played for South Bay Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Windy City Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Delaware Blue Coats, and Philadelphia 76ers.
Presently, McClung is spending the 2022-23 season with the Delaware Blue Coats. Recently, McClung signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and Delaware Blue Coats on February 14.
Notably, McClung was the 2021-22 G-League Rookie of the Year and is now the Slam Dunk Contest champion. Also, a Puma athlete.
