Magic Johnson reveals that Kawhi Leonard might be joining LeBron James on the Lakers’ team
In 2019, Magic Johnson wished to team LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi Leonard, one of the most successful superstars in the game right now, serves as the team’s ambassador at the moment for the Los Angeles Clippers. In terms of the postseason, he is undoubtedly a top-tier talent. Kawhi Leonard’s current statistics are 17.3 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 3.9 APG.
Kawhi Leonard’s future as a free agent was heavily rumoured after he won the 2019 NBA title with the Toronto Raptors. Although Magic Johnson has asserted that he could have persuaded Leonard to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, however, Leonard ultimately chose to play for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Predictably, Magic Johnson left the Los Angeles Lakers before that year’s free agency, so he was unable to meet Kawhi Leonard. LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard might not have shared a title, but they would have stood a solid chance.
Kawhi Leonard in the Los Angeles Clippers
In contrast to the majority of free agents, Kawhi Leonard clearly preferred the Los Angeles Clippers to the Los Angeles Lakers. When asked why Kawhi Leonard made that choice, Kobe Bryant famously said that Leonard “loved the challenge” of turning the Clippers into a successful team with Paul George.
Under Kawhi Leonard’s leadership, the Los Angeles Clippers have never won the title, but this year could be different. They have a strong and skilled team, thus they might advance far in the playoffs or perhaps leave the Western Conference.
Although he has experienced many injuries, he is still capable of being a top player who can guide a team to the title under the appropriate circumstances.
