Tuesday’s matchup of Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns will finally be the return of Stephen Curry who was briefly placed on the sidelines for 11 games. While millions of basketball fanatics are hyped about the return of the 3-Point King, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has already joined the hype train.
Magic Johnson took to social media to offer some high praise for the greatest shooter of all time, Stephen Curry as the Hall of Famer expressed just how highly he thinks of the Golden State Warriors’ main man.
“I’m so happy Steph Curry returns tonight. He was having an MVP season and he’s one of my favorite players of all time to watch. This is great news for the Warriors and the league,” Johnson wrote.
The Golden State Warriors shave managed to register 6 wins in Stephen Curry’s absence and have been able to hold a firm record of 20-20 in the Western Conference, keeping them well in playoff contention. However, Magic Johnson rightly pointed out the MVP candidature of Steph.
Before the injury, the eight-time All-Star was averaging 30.0 points on 50% shooting, 6.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, while also connecting on 5.0 triples per contest on a 43.4 percent clip. There was no doubt that the 3-point king was part of the MVP discussions but injury halted them. However, is there still a chance for Curry to be back amongst the MV favorites? Remains to be seen.
