NBA Hall of Fame introduced San Antonio Spurs star Manu Ginobili, whilst delivering his Hall of Fame speech the star got emotional.
Recently, NBA introduced twelve players to the NBA Hall of Fame. The most famous out of them all is Manu Ginobili from Spurs.
After moving speeches by the other twelve members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2022, it was finally time for Spurs’ great Manu Ginobili to deliver the event’s closing address. He was greeted with the largest round of applause of the evening.
The “Manu” chanting began as soon as presenter Ahmad Rashad said his name. The audience made it feel like it was the San Antonio Spurs Finals game.
Manu Ginobili got emotional while thanking his head coach
Manu thanked everyone who had an influence on his career, including, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Manu is a humble personality and he showed it yet again with his Hall of Fame speech.
Manu said, “16 years playing for the same coach with mostly the same players representing the colours and city, so many wins, losses, so many friends, so many incredible experiences”
He started thanking his support throughout with the words, “Pop here, what can I say man. You are so important to me and my family on and off the court that I will never be able to thank you enough. Thank you, Pop.” As he was saying it, he got emotional and the crowd was cheering him up. Later, he went on to thank other players.
He also thanked his national team that he won the gold medal and how Manu values his Argentina team as well.
Greg’s San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs of the Tim Duncan era were the best example of team efforts and how to win championships by playing as a unit. They won five championships under the brilliant coaching of Greg Popovich with apparently no big player other than Tim Duncan.
Under the guidance of Pop, every player played for the team and so did Manu. At times, he sat on the bench and helped the team win with the coach’s tactics. Manu was arguably the second-best player after Tim Duncan in the best-era San Antonio Team.
