Matt Barnes breakdowns the future of the Warriors with this player being an important part of things to come alongside Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors have been the most successful franchise of the modern era. They have already won 4 championships, and have been to 6 NBA Finals since 2015.
The players who have been a part of this Warriors’ dominance from their rough days are Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. They are widely respected around the franchise and are legends of this team.
Recently it was revealed that Draymond Green was looking for a max extension, and the franchise isn’t willing to give him. Draymond is certainly very important for the Warriors, and losing him won’t be easy.
Former Warriors player and NBA Champion Matt Barnes gave his insight on the situation. He said, “What I Want to Touch On Is Draymond. Obviously, You Want to Bring Back Wiggins. Klay Is Klay. But Draymond Does So Much More for the Organization. This Guy Will Be a Hall of Famer.”
Stephen Curry and the Warriors will need Draymond Green alongside them
Matt Barnes described it perfectly. Without Draymond Green, maybe Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson won’t be as much effective. Their defense will collapse, and there won’t be a vocal leader around them. Hopefully, the Warriors will fix the situation around Green.
Barnes further talked about Green and said, “If You Want to Call Him the Greatest Role Player of All Time, but He Does So Much More That Meets the Eye When It Comes to a Statistical Eye Challenge. He Holds the Whole Organization Accountable. Draymond Has Been in That Locker Room, so It Would Be a Huge Mistake.”
