Memphis Depay brutally roasts “lotta bark” Charles Barkley after the Netherlands beat USA in FIFA World Cup

As the Netherlands defeated the USA in the FIFA World Cup, Memphis Depay savagely taunted Charles Barkley

The USMNT’s World Cup campaign came to an end on Saturday when they were defeated 3-1 by a dominant Netherlands team. A fervent admirer of the American squad and TNT expert Charles Barkley, who is also an NBA Hall of Famer, made a wild prediction earlier in the week that the US will “open a can of whoop-ass” on the Dutch. The first goal for Holland was scored by Memphis Depay, who responded to Charles Barkley on Twitter after that didn’t happen: “Lotta Bark, no bite.”

Despite Barkley’s lofty rhetoric, the United States performed terribly. It was a forgettable performance, with the exception of a few chances in the last third that Gregg Berhalter’s team couldn’t convert. All three of the Netherlands’ goals resulted from a lack of defensive coordination on the part of the backline, particularly the third, when Antonee Robinson was caught asleep in the centre of the box while Denzel Dumfries was ostensibly waiting for a cross but standing wide open.

Recently, Barkley, a prominent member of TNT’s Inside The NBA, promised that the United States will defeat the Netherlands in the round of 16. The US did not open a “can of whoop a**” on the Dutch as Charles Barkley expected, despite the fact that it played far better than the 3-1 loss would suggest all thanks to Memphis Depay.
