Ja Morant had another spectacular outing in the NBA on Monday night at the FedExForum Arena. The Memphis Grizzlies star flaunted his incredible athleticism as he helped the Memphis Grizzlies to a 118-105 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Morant grabbed a career-high 52 points and also set the franchise record in the process. His impressive display against the Spurs came only two days after he scored 46 points against the Bulls.
However, Morant also grabbed the headlines for his spectacular buzzer-beater in the second quarter of the game. He later revealed that it was an NFL play and maybe “couldn’t do it again in the future.”
The crowd were also behind Morant as they chanted “MVP” It was a night to remember for the 2020 Rookie of the Year.

Morant provided a number of signature moments against the Spurs on Monday including an emphatic dunk over 7-foot Jakob Poeltl late in the second quarter. However, his buzzer-beating jumper to give the Grizzlies a 68-58 lead at halftime took the cake.
With just 0.4 seconds left on the clock in the second quarter, Steven Adams threw a massive, one-handed pass from one end of the court to the other to find teammate Ja Morant, who completed the play with his own bit of magic.
Adams also wrote his name into the record books. The New Zealand star’s 92-foot throw was also reportedly an NBA record for the longest assist in the league’s history.
Morant, however, after the game, claimed that he does have a few traits that could see him play in the NFL. He described his buzzer-beater as an NFL play, citing Adams as a quarterback and himself as a wide receiver.
While speaking to reporters after the game, Morant said, “This was something I’ll probably never be able to do again. I’m only a red zone guy. Fade route. Jump ball.”
NBA Fans on Twitter were also quick to praise Morant for his stunning outing against the Spurs.

Morant broke a few records for the Grizzlies with his showing on Monday. His 22 field goals from 30 were the most by a player from the team.
Morant’s 52 points against the Spurs was his also career-high and also the highest score in franchise history. It was the first time he crossed the 50-point mark in the NBA. Morant’s previous career-high was 47 points which he achieved in the first round of the playoffs last season.
