LeBron James is ranked higher than previous basketball greats by Draymond Green

On the season two premiere of Uninterrupted’s Throwing Bones, Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green outlined why he thinks James is the best NBA player of all time, surpassing Michael Jordan.

Green aged 32, explained how James,  has repeatedly adapted to changes in basketball while still holding the league’s top spot. He went on to explain that because Michael Jordan had to play against the greatest team ever put together, he is no longer the GOAT (Greatest of all time).

LeBron James over Michael Jordan: Why?

LeBron James, the standout forward for the LA Lakers, was referred to as the GOAT by Green in the episode. Green went on to explain why he chose James above NBA great Michael Jordan, who is revered by most NBA fans as the GOAT. Green initially claimed that James’ continued supremacy after being picked in 2003 has a lot to do with his selection.

Draymond Green continued by pointing out how James’ excellence hasn’t changed despite the fact that the game has continuously changed since he was selected. In terms of the best five players of all time, Draymond Green still ranked James ahead of Michael Jordan. Legendary LA Lakers player Kobe Bryant came in third place after Jordan. Then, Green displayed some implicit bias by placing his own star teammate Steph Curry in the fourth place. Shaquille O’Neal, probably the most dominant big man in NBA history, came in fifth on Green’s list to complete it.

Again, everything is subjective, but it’s difficult to contest the excellence of any of Draymond Green’s choices on an individual level.
