Which big names in the NBA will miss the 2023 NBA All-Star game – here are the huge snubs.

The NBA All-Star game has been a tradition in the NBA for as far back as we can remember. The best players in the competition all coke together to go up against each other, forming a number of mouthwatering team-ups as well as contests that excite the NBA enthusiast more than anything.

However, just as the NBA All-Star game pits the best of the best against each other, there are bound to be a few snubs every season considering the immense and ever-growing amount of talent in the competition. Similarly, there are quite a list of massive NBA superstars missing out on a starting spot in the All-Star game this year – all of whom we will be discussing as follows.

Who are some of the biggest NBA stars set to miss the All-Star game this year?

Some of the biggest NBA stars will miss the All-Star game this season, which has certainly raised an eyebrow or two.

Eastern Conference:

James Harden (Philadelphia 76ers)

Harden was with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2011-12) the last time he wasn’t named an All-Star. He made it in each of the past 10 years and is likely the biggest surprise on this list.

Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks)

Trae Young

Young had the highest scoring average of those players snubbed this year. The NBA leader in assists had made the game twice previously, but will not make it back-to-back appearances.

Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks)

Brunson was viewed by many to be a first-time All-Star this year but was among those left off. He was a favorite of Charles Barkley on the TNT broadcast. The Hall of Famer believed he should have been in.

Western Conference:

Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers)

Davis was almost certainly excluded this year after missing so much time. He has played in just over half of the Lakers‘ 52 games this year (28) and fell well below the voters’ required thresholds to make it.

Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Anthony Edwards

Edwards came up short in the All-Star voting. Outside of Anthony Davis and Devon Booker, who have missed extended time, Edwards has the highest-scoring-average of those who were snubbed in the West.

De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings)

Fox missing out this year was among the biggest surprises considering the Kings are third in the West. He likely had a stronger resume than some of the reserves this year and should have been rewarded for it.
