According to an NBA expert, LeBron James, a billionaire, is “f*****” at the Lakers
LeBron James’ commitment to the Los Angeles Lakers has come under scrutiny, which is unusual for the NBA legend. LeBron James, who is 38 and a billionaire, is still at the forefront of his career after scoring 47 points the day following his last birthday on December 31. The Lakers have recovered their form after a second performance collapse, and they really don’t appear to be a team that is ready to contend for the NBA title.
The Lakers clinched the championship title in 2020, but it could be some time before they can repeat it without James. Bill Simmons, an analyst, has criticised the NBA legend for tying himself down with a contract despite this.
James signed a two-year, $97.1 million (£80.8 million) agreement that would keep him with the Lakers through the 2024–2025 season, making him the highest-paid player in NBA history. Although the offer was obviously highly lucrative, LeBron James’ motivations have come under scrutiny now that he is a billionaire.
Before retiring, one of the all-time greats hopes to capture another title, and he is still playing at a high level to do so. However, the Lakers are really not, and Simmons thinks he may have harmed himself by not remaining open to new experiences.
The Lakers are presently in last place in the Western Conference with a record of 17-21. Although their season is still alive, it would require a tremendous amount of work, at the very least, to be a contender and return to the play-off discussions. James obviously enjoys his time with the Lakers, so helping them win another championship there would mean more to him than helping another team win it.
