LeBron James has been trying his best to inspire a demotivated Los Angeles Lakers side, who simply cannot catch up to the pace of the fourth quarter. Their latest loss came up against the Charlotte Hornets, who had lost 24 games and won only 8 heading into this context.
However, if it was up to Kendrick Perkins then he has a perfect Christmas present for his former teammate – LeBron James. The NBA analyst Lakers to make a move for Miami Heat’s Duncan Robinson to improve their shooting woes and perhaps end their on-court frustration.
On one hand where Russell Westbrook has majorly improved, coming off the bench for Darvin Ham’s team, they haven’t made any noticeable additions. Now with the 29-year-old superstar, Davis, out of action for at least a month, Perkins’ suggestion could be taken seriously by Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss.
Can Duncan Robinson help LeBron James?
Kendrick stated on the latest episode of NBA Today, “I like to give him Duncan Robinson. Right now, while he’s on the Lakers, he needs shooting. I would like to give him a shooter, a guy that he can rely on, a guy that can open up the lane and be a spacer.
“Even if he doesn’t get the ball, you can use him as a decoy, to run sets, to allow LeBron to go to work. He hasn’t had a shooter in a long time, and Miami’s not using him right now…That’s what I would like to give LeBron James”
Duncan Robinson can not only allow other players to have more space but will also give more freedom to the likes of Lebron James and Austin Reaves to attach the paint. With the 6’7 sharpshooter always keeping the opposition on their toes, a 3-point marquee scorer can be just what Lakers need to get out of this whole.
