Former NBA Champion Matt Barnes picked Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry over Allen Iverson in his top NBA handles of all time.
There have been many players who have had elite handles, and have effectively displayed their skill for both playmaking and scoring. Recently, NBA Champion Matt Barnes gave a list of his top 5 players with the best handles ever.
Surprisingly, his list didn’t include Allen Iverson. Iverson who is well known for inspiring an entire generation of players was considered to be one of the elite ball handlers.
Instead, Matt Barnes had these names:
5. Stephen Curry
4. Chris Paul
3. Jamal Crawford
2. Jason Williams
1. Kyrie Irving
Undoubtedly, all these five players in this list had elite handles. As a result, taking out Allen Iverson was quite hard for Matt Barnes, who later said, “I hate I have to leave AI.”
Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry have had a great history against each other
Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry are among the best point guards to ever play the game. Their skillset is unique and people love to come and watch their game.
They both faced each other three straight years in the NBA Finals. Kyrie hit that famous shot over Curry which led the Cavs to an NBA Championship. As a result, both of them have been compared with each other a lot throughout their careers.
Curry has had a better resume, but Kyrie is also a fantastic player. Not many people can do what Irving can do with the ball, and he is arguably the best ball handler in the history of the game.
