An NBA executive has shared how much pull Steph Curry has at the GSW
Stephen Curry is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world at the moment, and some would even suggest that he has an argument in the conversation for one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
Curry’s influence has revolutionized the game as we know it since his debut in the NBA, and the Golden State Warriors man holds plenty of influence for his team. An unnamed NBA executive has come clean about the kind of influence that Curry has on the basketball franchise that he has played for ever since his NBA debut in 2009.
Curry has played for the Golden State Warriors for 13 seasons, being the centrepiece of the team as they won four titles including last season – and is considered almost synonymous with the franchise right now.

After bringing the franchise unprecedented success, it is considered normal that Curry has plenty of influence in the decisions that the Warriors hierarchy make on trading or retaining players. It turns out that Curry “terrifies people at the front desk” and the Warriors do their best to keep Curry happy – or risk an angry Curry walking away from the Warriors whenever he pleases.
What did the NBA executive have to say about Curry’s influence?
The unnamed executive said that Curry has an incredible pull on the way that the Warriors work and how they retain or trade players.
The Golden State Warriors currently have a core of Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole led by their frontman in Curry. With Green and Thompson – both four time NBA champions with Curry – are nearing the end of their contract, most teams would be planning for the future, but not with the Warriors and the insurmountable influence of Curry.
The executive went on to say that any decision that the hierarchy makes about Green and Thompson will have to be passed by Curry, and either of the two leaving would risk Curry moving on as well. Angry Curry is scary, and the Warriors do not want to see that side of him.
